Don't Be Afraid of the Dark Ages, Darling
Well, work was something of a nightmare this morning. I won't go into details to spare the TMI-sensitive in the crowd, but Dale did NOT have a good night and was really depressed and embarrassed when I got there. Much cleaning and comforting later, I left him in a considerably happier mood than I'd found him, but still. The poor guy needs more care than he can get on a part-time basis like this.

Working with Dal afterwards was pretty relaxed, comparatively...I also tried some of the veggie-juice I fixed up for him since there was a little extra, and it was surprisingly tasty for consisting of cabbage, chard, carrot, spinach, and celery with a little apple and orange mixed in. It was enough to get me interested in pricing juicers online, although I think I'll have to wait a while before I can justify even thinking about buying a $100 kitchen appliance that really only does one thing.

Happy 22nd birthday to Mike, although he's spent most of it running around to get his dad home from the hospital, buying a suit for his interview at UOP tomorrow, and doing courier work for his other job. What a guy, eh?

Got some time to kill until 8:30 when I can go pick up my "paycheck" (read: wad of cash) from work so I have something for gas money. After making banana bread, I've mostly run through the to-do list for today. (The convection oven scared me, but I found a time/temp converter online and it seemed to work okay so I guess there's nothing to be worried about?) Guess it's back to Riddley Walker...wonder if I can knock out seventy-ish pages before we take off tomorrow night.
